I personally like the px series body,,,some say it's the ugly duckling but I dig them,,,they are a large frame bike so there's more room,,,nice sized front box,,,carries a spare,,,the reason I went Stella is its a 4 stroke,,,with a gearbox ,,,disk brake up front 12 volt ,,,px switches and a bunch of the Vespa parts fit it,,,,I'd love to have another

Cyborg I thought that the 2003 threw 2009 stellas were two stroke and the same as the px 150 except the badges? Are you saying the stellas have a smaller frame. In 2010 I noticed it changed to 4 stroke on the stella and you are saying they are still manual shift. What year stella do you have? I read some of the posts that you did to your scooter pipe carb glass fuse and shifter cable. Also what is the life span of a 2 stroke if taken care of mile wise? You do not see as many vespas or stellas here in Pittsburgh. I am going to say tops three I have seen the px or stella. I meet a guy named tommy over in bloomfeild I saw his scooter there for like a month and I couldn't take it any more I had to try to talk to him. He owns a 67 vespa 150 super. Wow you should of seen the look on his face when I nocked on his door I told him I was interested about his scooter and his deminor changed he was happy to tell me about it I think he loved it I talked to him for close to an hour. Even asked him if he had any intrest selling it he was very attached to it and I don't blame him at all. Not every day you get to see a 67 super up close. Yeah I have seen them on ebay and pictures they are not super rare I don't think but most you see are restored and look mint. Tommys was not mint but in great working order original paint couple dent scratches what do expect from something of that age right. Well anyways he was very friendly and glad I stopped to talk to him after a month of noticing it. I also like the gts 200 250 300 they have a large frame and I rode a 250 and it was like 5 times peppier than my scoot. It had a salvage title so I never ended up buying it. I don't really like the looks of the lx 150 but they are probley great scooters. Cyborg you said to me you use to have a et4 is that an lx 150? I thought you had a 50 years ago. I also looked at a piagio lt 150 it was pretty nice it needs some work I don't know if it was worth the money. Plus parts are hard to find for it but easy to get in another country they had everything. The lx 150 piaggio is some what rare from what I learned was only made 2 years in usa but I think it is still made in othere countrys and parts you can get it is called a liberty in other countrys I believe.

I think 2009 was the last year for the 2 stroke stella are you sure? Was 2005 the last year for the px 150 ended with limited edition?
Also how much does it take to get a decent stella or px in fair shape?

i've seen 2 stroke stellas on CL for as little as $1200,,,i've seen clean low mile px 150's on CL for as little as $800,,,non running but a battery and carb clean away from a decent scoot ,,,you just have to have the money ready and jump on them when they come around,,,i missed a px1500 on CL for $300 pretty clean too by 10 minutes,,,so they are out there,,,now is a good time to buy also,,,lots of people dump their bikes and scooters in fall and winter

Last year of production was 2011,,, but the Stella is a direct descendant,,so in a sense it's still being made,,,just under the LML brand ,,,I love mine and wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I had $ to just set aside,,,

oh they are out there,,like i said ,,one that needs,,a battery ,cleanup and maybe tires for less than $1500,,probably be all in at 15,,bike and parts/repairs everything,,,i am very pleased with this model series,,,with a little work they can be made to fly too without too much work and money,,,and the gearbox is the key to great mileage also,,direct drive is definately the way to go,,the cvt type trans is very inefficient and gives away alot of power to heat,,,and i like the true neutral when youre working on the engine when on the stand,,testing is much easier when you dont have the rear wheel engaged in the higher rpm's,,and another huge plus in the px body style is ease of service,,man it sure is nice to be able to lift the seat turn a couple levers and take off the side covers and get at just about everything,,it literally takes seconds to get the covers off,,,what a pleasure

Have you heard any good do the clutches hold up for a while the only thing I heard is the cable for shifting needs adjusted from time to time also you do not what to run them full speed like four stoke for long due to they are two stroke.

clutches are good for 8-10000 miles but if you beat them of course lower miles are expected,,,,i had a cable go on me at 2100 miles put a new one in and i check it no problems yet,,,,on a hot day wot for long extended periods is not a good thing ,,,but i wouldn't do that to a 4 stroke either,,,,the new materials are much better than when px series bikes were first made,,,but i still wouldn't whip a machine wot all the time,,,and don't forget a built 200px can go almost 100 mph,,,you'll be getting many tickets
