Tony obrian on his px200 engined 90ss went 116+ not too long ago and that's officially time trialed,,,this is "stock" balanced and blueprinted pump gas no special fuels,,,,Vespa had a streamliner called the siluro that went well over 100 in 1951,,, and also don't forget the 50cc bonneville record is 143+,,, so a 100 mph Vespa is totally doable,,and without too much work or money,,,I see 85-90 mph for my Stella with a few mods and a final drive change,,that's my expectation,,,there is no reason a mildly modded 200cc 2stroke can't be fast

One of my favourite bikes was an old PX125, no battery, no electric start, drum brakes, oil pump was disconnected so it was premix, not fast but it always started. So simple but it was immensely enjoyable to ride. Also had an early `70s 150 super many years ago, similar but on 8 inch wheels and no indicators. Wiring diagrams on both were basic to say the least so less to go wrong. I wish I could get another but the prices in the UK are rather inflated.

I have been out for a while sorry i have came across some vespa px and stellas there is one stella 2 stroke red for 1700 with over 200 miles very clean but out of my budget. I just noticed a px 200 in my neighborhood i have not got to talk to owner but talk to neighbor he seemed to think it had no title out of question for me.
I am looking for a dr 350 with electric start now before i by a stella or px unless i sell some of my scooters.

I have a dr350 mildly modded ,,,one of the best bikes I've ever owned ,,,it's a keeper,,,and my Stella is a keeper as well,,,,,I'm kind partial to shifter bikes

Own a dr 350 now love it broke leg on it thinking about getting rid of it and buying a stella 2 stoke. Whatever happens with the dr i will get a new toy i looked for a long time for one and worked hard to get it. What i bummer i do not want to get rid of it i want to ride off road in mud but if breaking a bone keeps me away from something i love doing witch is riding it might be worth getting rid of i have yet to get hurt on a sco oter. knock on wood.

I have heard difrently threw the grape line still reaseaching it not 100 percent sure yet. If the cases are difrent that means less options.

For what it's worth, here is a successful setup for a 2T Stella I had been having trouble with running too lean and poor ignition. After three trips to the shop, I undertook the problems myself. First, I replaced the coil and plug wire to address the ignition problem. It was a guess because the shops didn't find a problem when they evaluated. It fixed the ignition problem immediately. Shops spend a few minutes but don't heat the electrical system up enough. It appears the coil or spark plug wire were failing when hot. Next, the jets. I had been running too lean and had been increasing the size of the main jet. It wasn't working. I read some of the old scooter boards and went to a 103 main jet. It only made a slight difference. Apparently the low speed jet makes a much bigger difference until you reach at least half throttle. I hardly ever ride above 30% throttle. I changed the low speed jet and voila! Much better color on the plug. I also changed to a B8ES plug from the B7ES. That's one size cooler. Now, my plugs are a little dirty but acceptable and the scooter runs smoothly when hot. It appears to have reached the sweet spot. So: Here's the current setup that I now have over 700 miles on without any issues. D.R. Racing 177 kit with Sito Plus. Stock carb with oil injection plus an additional one ounce of 2t oil per gallon of gas. 55/160 Idle Jet 103/140 main Stock Spaco Carb (20/20) Moral to the story: No matter how good the shop, they don't know your scooter as well as you do.
