Give it to him, he hit the nail right on the head. CF Moto has abandoned two wheels in this Country. First the scooters, now the motorcycles. I was almost tempted to buy an NK 650, now I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. They were selling new ones for $4000, now I know why. They've gone ATV and Side by Sides. www.cfmoto-us.com/

Q. How do you know when the management of CFMoto is lying to you?
A. Their lips are moving.

Personally I believe it to be due to several factors and you'd have to be asleep to not know money was the driving force.
One we had a lot of Chinese scooters hit the market and while we know some are better than others the one thing that they all have in common is easy to work on and parts are cheap. So with this said I think CfMoto couldn't compete as a better Chinese scooter (and they are better) with the higher price tag. A lot of people shop and also wait for scooters that don't sell to be marked down after they sit in a showroom for a spell.
I also agree with John completely less restrictions, more profit.

The only good thing about having the Fashion is that many Honda Helix parts bolt right on and Alpha Sports is good about getting me standard CF Moto parts (Thanks Tom). If I ever have to do anything major though, it's gone. I'm pretty disgusted that they brought bikes and scooters in first, made a name for themselves with them and just abandoned their owners.

Just wait till they $crew the atv owners just like bike and scooter owners!
But they don't count as you don't have to plate atv's so no accountability necesary.

Yes, while it is true that at least Alpha Sports will sell you CFMOTO parts, those parts are becoming increasingly expensive. Now whether it's Alpha realizing they have a captive market... or CFMOTO jacking the pricing up...I don't know.

I had a very similar problem earlier in my riding career,,,i rode ducatis when no one knew who or what they were,,,ducati was going in and out of business like a revolving door,,,parts were nigh nonexistant,,,so i got ahold of a machinist that had a 4 axis italian serti milling center,,,he just made parts for me,,,the parts counter queens used to joke about the wait and the costs of the parts i was trying to order,,,outrageous markups,,with the "take it or leave it" attitude and remarks,,,i went in there with some parts i had made,,,they were stunned,,,i said "less dough quick turnaround better parts and you'll not see me here again you fu(krs",,,,anything that can be made can be remade,,,it's not rocket science,,,it's just a matter if you want to spend the money or not,,,i don't want this to be a chinese bashing session,,,there is a break point of what you're willing to pay for repairs on anything but with the relatively inexpensive buy in of these machines ,it turns into a coin flip whether you want to or not,,,some owners have had very good luck with CF,,,others have had catastrophic failures on critical parts that could have lead to very serious injury or death,,,honda had a run of bad swingarms for the big goldwing,,they cracked in half,,,nice,,,how'd you like to wrestle a 900 lb machine at 70 mph with no rearend?,,,that's a worm burner for sure,,,yamaha's parts support sucks and Genuine's is abysmal and is a nonstarter,,,i still think CF's abandonment of their scooter/2 wheeled customers is dirty pool,,,but except for a few manufacturers they do it

I don't blame any company for doing what they need to do as far as making a profit and staying in business and had this been one of those things where they got into financial trouble and bellied up so to speak then I'd just say it was a bad deal. But we all know the stories of how they misled people and then left all their dealers holding the bag and trying to keep mad customers happy, very unethical IMO.
If we remember there was another "better" Chinese scooter company that did go belly up for several reasons and they had the similar thing happen with a lot of unhappy dealers and customers, of course I'm talking about Fly Scooters.
The shame of it is IMO CfMoto could have found a way to keep a market going with more competitive priced scooters and maybe even consider merging with another Chinese company with maybe just a scooter line and keep dealers happy with a supply of parts for scooters already out in the market.
CFMoto made a great scooter but with our economy as it is and during the time they were selling here people didn't want to pay the higher price for what is still a Chinese scooter. Just like when Japan entered the two wheel world it takes time to get a reputation of being a good manufacturer.
MY hope is someone will do like the automotive industry does and that is build after market parts when OEM parts stop being built. I personally don't ever see Moto back in the scooter business.
