My 150cc atv has a top mounted fuel tank with the hose coming out of the bottom. My research on the site here indicates that since the tank is above the motor, all I need is a petcock and let gravity work its majic to the carb. However, my Taotao has a fuel pump. I just put on a 28mm carb (the old one was supposedly a 13mm). I still have fuel issues. It will run and accelerate just about as long as it would take to empty the bowl. Do I switch to gravity flow? Thanks for any and all advice.

Normally the ones that have the tank above the carb the outlet has a SCREW on PETCOCK like PIC #1 and it requires VACUUM like any other petcock. You say you have a TAOTAO Is it a 150 or a 50cc? If its a 50cc you put on to big of a carb, on a 50cc they normally come with a 18mm and you can go 19-20mm carb. Also a fuel pump is WAY OVERKILL bud. People make that mistake all the time they figure lots of fuel more power WELL it is the opposite it floods the motor and you actually loose power. Alleyoop PIC#1:

Alleyoop, it is a 150. I broke the old pump trying to get it off so I ordered an exact replacement. I took the old carb, which I believe is a 13mm and put on a new 26mm.

If its a 150 then the carb was a 24mm not a 13mm so which carb did you get a 26mm opr a 28mm? in the first post you say 28mm and now you say 26mm. But in either case either one will work but with some adjustments. Alleyoop
