I noticed where my kick start gear the hole where it goes in seems to have a cotter pin hole I think it's called but my gear doesn't have one and the pics I see online of them don't eather? When I try to hook my gears up they pop out on me when I try to put the cover on could this be the reason?

PIcture of what yours looks like would help ALSO what kind of scoot 50cc or 150cc and what motor does it have.
So one can look up the kickstarter parts for it.

Ok here is your CVT which part or gear is coming loose.

After looking online looks like I'm gona have to replace it mine doesn't have the washer with that nub sticking out its severed off

Alley thanks again for helping. But just to be certain. gear number two should have a washer and the nub right? Also mine has a black spring aswell were the nub is. Is there supposed to be a spring there to? I got this scoot with the kickstart off just can't figure it out.

scooterkev , depending on what MODEL you have, there could be variations that will make a difference as to the correct parts for yours if, you need them, and is why Alleyoop asks for the info. For instance, mine is a Gy6 150cc also, it's a yy150T-2 with a QMJ157 engine. Check your information plates for the numbers and/or post pics of your kick start assembly,K ? He posted a link to instructions on how.
He recently took me through my kickstart assembly so, I thought I may be able to help but, we need the info first.
