Yep, I do know who you are and what you did But why post all that technical detail that is just bragging which pisses me to no end and by the way anyone can get off the net. What I hate is people coming on with that kind of stuff which on here is just a waste of time and tells me one big thing "JUST A BLOW HARD" which probably can't adjust a damn HOLLEY. IF YOU ARE AS GOOD AS YOU SAY YOU ARE, I could use some help posting advice and or fixs for some of the folks that are asking for help. Some come on and post that they are ASE CERTIFIED or were CERTIFIED MECHANICS since they were 20 or so then they say this is their first scooter and the 1 CYLINDER 4 BANGER they do not understand or never have worked on one!! I keep my mouth shut and let that go knowing damn well they know squat and do not want to be seen as not knowing anything and not mechanically inclined. They should just come right out and say I am not that mechanically inclined and need some help. Their is nothing to be ashamed about not knowing something but if you do not ask you will never learn. We all asks questions and that is how we all learn, asking questions and maybe getting your hands dirty and doing it or at least trying one learns very quickly. BIG AL THE KIDDIES PAL Alleyoop

"He just happened to be to eager and ran the sucker without a pipe and lean. " Alleyoop What actually happened is I was able to test start the bike when it was a 50cc without the pipe. Nothing more and I didn't ride it like that. I only ran it for 3 to 5 seconds. It didn't seize at that stage. I got a BBK kit from Scootercraft with a Stage 6 aluminium cylinder but they sent me an Athena piston with it that appeared (and ultimately was) too tight for the bore. Me, trusting they knew what they were doing fitted it all, did the squish, put a #90 main in it with a Technigas pipe and ran it on premix and it seized. My new carb has arrived and it has the tinniest oil feed hole and vacuum feed hole both only detectable by using compressed air. The finest piece of wire won't go through it. I am waiting for my BBK to arrive now.

Can you post some pics of the Seized Piston? Athena is a quality brand. I have extensive experience in analyzing Two Stroke Piston failures. On the Pre-mix what ratio and what brand of Oil? Was the premix in addition to the Oil Pump? Id like to help so you don't have the same problem again.

BIG AL THE KIDDIES PAL Alleyoop Dmn dude all these Capital Letters, yelling and Erks you to Know end all passed off. jeez. This guy asked a question regarding his Cylinder composition and not you or anyone else answered him, So I did, its a area that I have allot of Professional experience in. and you know it, I made a analogy in comparisons to Iron Cooking tools, Is that too technical? I answer his second question regarding pre-mix, You and know else answer that one either. Was that too technical? I answered his questions, why is that a problem with you? All what technical stuff? I addressed his third issue with a illustration of properly measuring his piston to wall. I had some proper pics of that, another problem huh? maybe heel go down to Harbor freight and pick up a pair of digi calipers for $6.99 and learn now to use them. $6.99 too much? why is that a waste of time? oh you don't have to do all that. He thinks he has a issue, so maybe check the dar thing, i don't give a dmn about all the junk bolted together out of the box. thats the "I've been doing it for 20 years this way" ya you've been doing it wrong. Guess what, all piston companies in the sates and europe provide instructions on properly prepping the cylinder, honing, ring gaps, piston clearance, per instruction's, this cheap Chinese junk comes with nothing. and no guarantor or warranty of any material or matching issue, nice business Maybe you have a financial interest in this so you hate people like me exposing the junk thats sold to these poor saps who don't have the dmn money to fix it right the first time. I couldn't do, It was my face at the show and I can look someone in the eye and be confident and proud of a quality product. So you can also get all your info you post on the net too, you've posted the same snit a few thousand times, he asked I answered. heck this board is filled with a plethera of videos and tutorials, all one has do do is look, but We don't mind answereing the same question all year. If you met me the last thing you would say about me is that I'm some type of Braggart. And back to name calling "blowhard" nice, admin, mod over here huh? I actually enjoyed being called out on my scoot pics. I figured all along you didn't believe I really had one, dang huh? So I got some toys, thats a problem too huh? You don't need my dmn help with instructing how to adj valves and carbs a few hundred times a year. I stay away, I see too many chime in and do nothing but confuse the poster and head him down a wrong path. Im a engine guy, I really enjoy it and helping others. ASE greasemonkey whatever, the last one told me recently he can slap a turbo on a ol stock 305sbc and turn it 11,500 all day, HuH? a cast rotating assy with a timing chain and stud mounted rockers, who does he think he's fooling? Im dmn proud to be part of programs that manufactures winners. I t took allot of work and dues to get there, Hippy teachers said I wouldn't about to anything. Wrong. I think Ill brag now, mite as well. Pretty cool being paid to drive race cars and bikes, fly private, hot babes Manufacturing winners

I am in Aus so we are on different time frames so that is why it takes a while to respond. I feel bad that people are arguing like this on my thread.
My BBK seizure happened about three years ago so I will go on what I remember. It was on full premix, the oil pump was disconnected. It seized on my first tank of fuel. I remember being conservative with my oil mix so I think it was 40:1 but could have even been 30:1. I was using 98 octane fuel and full synthetic oil (I think it was Motul) I had done a couple of plug chops and the plug seemed a fine tan colour, no indication of what was to come. I don't have the piston any more but here are pics of the barrel.
I had a #90 main in, standard air cleaner without snorkel and was on full throttle when it went. I remember Scootercraft not sending the piston they said they would in the kit I ordered (they sent a Anthea piston with a Stage 6 barrel). I remember as I installed it had very little slack between piston and bore. This one locked up solid so the kick starter wouldn't budge.

Hey m-8 Don't worry bout Ally and me its a most of the time deal if I chime in. if ya want just pm me and ill try to no bs help. Thanks for the pics, helps me allot. Ok most likely (it is) the Seizure started at the right corner of the Exhaust port, the Hot, side of a two stroke piston. once the metal goes liquid it will push the piston to seize in the opposite direction. It really looks like a lean condition more than anything else. These small cc two smokers really like to eat a Crank Seal, Suck air and go lean in a big hurry. If I have hard or weird time jetting one I go right to the Crank seal and put one in. Here is a custom Itialian Cast piston with almost the same seizure only on the opposite corner of the Exhaust Port. Same deal as yours Here is opposite corner (intake side). On the pre-mix, Motul is fine just pick a recommended ratio, stick with it and jet off it. On you clearance concern, They can run that Athena casting pretty darn tight. Athena and Vertex out of Italy mfg very high end castings and are known for there low expansion properties. Conservatively your going to be under .002 piston to wall. With a good fitted cylinder I could run that at .0008 and I have done it.
Thats a 67.4mm bore to boot, So many good luck, hang out, post up your results with lottsa pics.

Here is Close to Ideal Dome Color to try to achieve. Pretty cool you can see the Intake Charge come in from the Transfer Ports on the Sides and the Flame travel out the Exhaust side at Top of Photo.

Thankyou (both) We are all pulling in the same direction here and have a common interest. Sure we can have differing opinions but we are all working for the same common cause and I appreciate both your interest and assistance ....

Just for interest, here is the 50cc piston that just seized in the cylinder. The scratchings on the top are from a screwdriver down the plug hole when the head was still on where: 1.) I was checking the piston still had a top 2.) TDC for the ether spray.

Thanks M-8
Oh hey I see your in Perth. Get HOT there? I was close to a Dive trip in western Australia to fly into Perth and drive north. Some issue of driving at night up there with Kangaroo or Wallaby problems? and some places seem to be closed during summer due to the high heat?

True story Allyoop! I've always read your advice, when it comes to issues I've had, and it has always been spot on. I had issues with my scooter not wanting to keep running, and just started replacing everything in the motor that I thought would be the problem. I was acting blindly replacing the plug, the petcock valve, the cdi, the carb, the filter, etc....... Well, after reading what you said about the valves in one of your comments to another fella with a similar problem, that's exactly what it was!!!! I adjusted my valves to your specifications, and it has run great ever since! Thank you.
