Hi I have an air cooled gy6 80cc and I noticed after a valve clearance that there is an unusual oil consumption not so important but enough to make me worry about .clearly I haven’t a feeler gauge but I always used to adjust my valves without special tools letting them loose and it’s ok almost the time. So my question is:” is there a relation between a wrong valve clearance and oil consumption and if yes how that can happens?” to my knowledge oil consumption is due to 3 factors -piston rings -head gasket -valve seals

Correct there is no relation ,,,but you need to buy a basic set of tools to do your own work,,,a good set of feeler gauges should be in your hands or a good set of valve adjustment tools,,,(motion pro makes a decent set)

How old is the big bore kit?,,,sometimes a new kit will use a little oil till everything gets seated

If you don't want to buy a set of feeler gauges cut a piece of a Soda Can or Beer Can around the center and use that as your feeler gauge, the thickness is about .003 inchs which is what you would want on a 50cc motor. Alleyoop

Oh i forgot to mention that i had upgraded my scooter from 50cc to 80cc 1 month ago and have a distance of 200 km so all is new! i use 15w-40 multigrad oil so i think it's fine
i don't know but a friend of mine told me that with air cooled engines always oil consumption is expected is that real and if yes with 0.75L of oil putted into my engine how much quantity must be the consumed normally after 1000 km ?
