on my yy150-12 the rear brakes will scream when I apply more than light pressure. brakes only have 900km on them and I've taken off the rear wheel, used brake cleaner and 400 grit paper on the shoes, cleaned the drum and adjusted the tension but they continue to make noise with any thing more than light pressure applied. I also know the 150's have enough power to over ride the rear brakes.

What makes them squeal is the type of material the brakes are made of or they are loose and vibrating. Cheap pads have a lot of metal bits and that causes squealing you want to get good pads that use a lot of organic material.

thanks alley. the pads are factory so i will start looking for a quality set for the future.
