This was a very big reason I went bmw,,,their parts availability is second to none,,,when I went to put a deposit on my first one ( an r1150r) when they first were taking orders I was waiting for the salesman and a parts truck from the factory pulled up and dropped parts catalogues on the counter before he started to bring boxes of supplies in,,so as I waited I grabbed one and was shocked,,,fenders, tanks, frames all painted & pinstriped , cranks ,rods everything for every bike they produced back to the late 20's early 30's,,,I was used to dealing with Yamaha at the time who couldn't put their hands on parts for bikes 4-5 years old,,,I was stunned,,and also I was sold,,,I made a huge mistake by selling that r1150,,, that won't happen again

I hear that. It will be a long time before I don't have either the Rebel or Nighthawk in my hands. Those 250 engines have been produced for decades and the parts are still available. The '83 Spectre, while a hot bike, doesn't seem to have the parts availability. That's also the charm of the Fashion. The CN-250 engine is in everything and everyone carries engine parts for them.

Don't meant to hijack the thread,,,but here goes anyway,,,lol. Yes and I hear you as well,,,as I age a little wisdom is rubbing off on me,,,finally,,,parts availability is a huge part of my decision making now,,,,before not so much and I paid for it in spades more times than I care to count or recall,,,nothing worse than having a machine that WHEN it's working is great,,,keeping it working is another story,,,I really enjoy building a bike or car,(mostly bikes) I really do,,,but when I'm done I want to be done and not chasing failures and faults all over the place,,,and when a part fails I want to be able to get it in a reasonable timeframe,,this is what worries me about the Stella ,,,all I can say is thank goodness for eBay and the Internet ,,,,the nearby dealer is as clueless as could possibly be,,,and also that no service no parts attitude of said dealer is the reason for the r80,,,I really had the hots for that genuine g400c even tho it's only a few cubes bigger than my dr it's street orientated,,,but the release dates being pushed back and back again with no release date scheduled I said nope I'm not chasing that bike,,,all because of support nothing more,,,
