Victory, as a brand is losing the battle and will require a different path. Maybe some entry level or dual purpose bikes.
I agree with you Jack and I'm sort of hoping that the 750cc engine Indian is going to run in AMA Flat Track racing ends up in a sport bike with a Victory label.
I went into Harley Davidson of Danbury one day just to see what the new Street 500cc and 750cc bikes looked like. The dealer had ONE 750cc model and no 500cc models on the floor, yet dozens of the bigger bikes and Sportsters. Unless Polaris changes the perception through Victory that American bikes have to be large I think Victory will disappear. Indian is already selling as many bikes and the Victory Octane and Indian Scout share an engine.
BTW Pete, the Indian Scout 60 comes in at $8999 and targets the 883 Sportster.
