Hey guys, I have a quick question. I just purchased a mod dog 150 trike about 3-4 week ago from bobcats motorsports. Today I was out on my scooter and made it about 100 ft from my house when the left fender vibrated loose and went under my tire. Almost caused me to flip... I didn't but it was close...
Scoot was running perfectly before that happened. I removed the fender then and there and tried to start my scooter up to get it home. It would crank but wouldn't hit. You can smell gas majority out the exhaust.
After it set for about an hour it started back but won't idle have to keep giving it throttle or it dies immediately. I noticed there's a small crack in my exhaust. Would this crack alone cause this behavior or do you think I did something else to my bike? I'm not too mechanical savvy but I can work my way around a wrench when needed I'm just not sure if this is something simple or if I should be taking it to a garage. I checked fuel lines / pump / filter / spark plug / coil etc and I personally don't see any defects anywhere other than the exhaust.
This is what I get for not locktiting the bolts :/
Also it smells like something is getting hot after running 5 minutes or so. No wires seem to be loose and the battery / CDI etc seems ok. I didn't crash into anything when it happened I just tilted over on the right hand side pretty hard and I assume that's when I cracked my exhaust pipe.

First who PDI it? which side fender fell off if side where harness is check it out real well. Are you sure there aren't any wires hitting exhaust system? If crack is were if you have another pipe added to make it look like double exhaust system fake anyway call bobcats just tell them were crack is but they will tell you to take a picture and sent it to them.

The PDI was done by a local Yamaha repair center. They will work on pretty Much anything. The crack on the exhaust is in the pipe and it's decinitely new and there's something leaking though thst crack I assume gas since that's what I smell. I'm going to call bobcats today and deal with one of their techs and see if they can at least get me on the right direction. It was the left fender I took both back fenders off. The fender that fell under the tire was destroyed anyway.

I went out this morning and started my scoot. It runs like always. No gas smell nothing... Idles fine. The crack is still in the exhaust but I should be able to fix that pretty easy. Maybe it was just flooded ?

Is bobcat going to replace your parts like fender and exhaust, you have a 6 month warranty if dealer PDI it.

They are and it turns out it was my carb causing the problem. I replaced the carb yesterday and it runs perfectly now However I have had a horrible shimmy in the front wheel since day one and yesterday I was riding and noticed the shake is worse and now there's a bit of grinding noise happening.
Any idea what I should check here or what it could be? I'm a bit paranoid now riding it after I almost flipped the thing because of a fender.. don't want to go flying over handle bars because my front tire falls off...

Time to get that thing up in the air,,,you have to get all loads off the wheels and check the axle alignment ,,front axle nut ,,front fork pinch bolts the whole magilla start it when un the stands check rear wheels for run out make sure they are running true, check fork steering stem ,,,that's a start anyways
