Once again I had to move a bike to my new house. This time it was my daughter's Rebel. It rode about the same as mine but for one exception. The previous owner had a lengthy commute on a relatively flat stretch of highway. To pick up some more top speed and keep the revs down a one tooth larger countershaft sprocket was installed. On the flatter stretches it worked like a charm and 65 mph was easy. Unfortunately a lot of the interstate I traveled on had hilly spots and the bike strained on the bigger ones, dropping down to 50 to 55 mph. My Rebel has standard gearing and was able to handle those spots better. Even so, with the new windshield just mounted, the ride was fairly easy and my only problem was being stiff from a long run in the saddle. Last to go will be the 1991 Nighthawk. I'll be curious how it handles the ride.

I haven't taken it far from the house since I got it running. This run will be its first long run since I got it running. Fingers will be crossed.

I wasn't too concerned about the Spectre making the trip. It did 300 miles in one trip back in August so I knew it was fine. My daughter's Rebel was used for 80 mile daily commutes, so I knew it was solid. The Nighthawk has never been further than eight miles on a trip. It hasn't done anything to make me fearful I just wish I had done a longer ride with it, even a twenty-five mile run. I'm sure it will be fine. Like you said, It's a Honda.
