Ok here we go with a long drawn out post. I acquired a 2004 Kymco zx50 with only 400 miles on it. It had a bad oil pump and was leaking oil into the crankcase (reason why it was given to me). That issue was resolved. I pulled the cylinder to empty oil from crankcase and in doing so snap 1 piston ring putting cylinder back on. sat for 2 years until now. The CDI also went bad so I replaced with an aftermarket CDI unit. Problem is I believe it is the wrong ubit? It does get fire when cranking but does not even attempt to start at all.........until you let off starter button. Acts like it wants to fire at the point it's almost finsihed cranking over if that makes sense. The CDI unit I ordered had different style plugs so I removed plug ends from harness and attatched without plugs. The CDI unit is ORANGE and when ordered it stated it fit the zx50 but the same units I see on Ebay state they are for the GY6 motors. Any help in regards to this CDI being the right unit would be helpful. Even though the unit fires the plug it may be wired wrong? www.ebay.com/itm/CDI-AC-GY6-50-150cc-Scooter-139QMB-Racing-Roketa-Kymco-VIP-Baja-Higher-Grade-/291556280333?hash=item43e21bc80d:g:8xoAAOSwT5tWKgYV&vxp=mtr
