A buddy of mine bought a 61mm cylinder kit (piston, rings, etc.) but had planned to run his stock head. Since he found out I had a 63mm high compression head I'm not using, he's bugging me to buy it to use with his 61mm cylinder (at a discount of course). Has anyone tried this before? It's not that I mind selling it to him, but I don't want to have to help him "pick up the pieces" if it doesn't work!

Ive never seen Any High Compression Heads on the market, were did it come from and who makes it? The Combustion Chamber Diameter should be 63mm for your head, Thats More cc volume than a stock or 61mm head so It Will Lower the Compression Ratio. as long as you combustion Chamber Measures a True 63mm.
A Stock Head on his 61mm Bore will Raise his Compression Ratio, The Combustion Chamber should be the Same Size as His Bore. Theoretically if the MFG did the correct job a 61mm Head on a 61mm Bore Should Maintain the Stock Compression Ratio. Theres so much fake junk out there the only way to tell is to CC the Cylinder Head and do the math.
