So I just discovered that my GY6 150cc rear wheel significantly "rubs" against about 33% of the rear drum when I turn it. Obviously, this is bad both for fuel economy as well as the health of the drum itself and the brake shoes. Given that the drum is integral to the wheel on these scooters does this mean I need a new wheel? (I'm highly doubtful that anyone would be willing to machine the drum true and besides, it likely would cost more that a replacement).
Thoughts/experience?

If you had soft spot in the swept area of the drum they will indeed wear oval and get out of round,,,I have seen a few cases of this but never on a scooter,,,,and I'm afraid even if you get someone to cut it the soft spot will still be there and it will just happen again,,,I think it's time for a new wheel and shoes,,,,that's my opinion of course

And again My Hunter style Scoot came brand new with the Drum out of round so bad that I had to back off the adjustment so far so it wouldn't rub the brake became next to useless. I put up with it then ordered a set of OE style color matched wheels and the Rear Drum is only Slightly Better. Seems to be Typical of the Quality of product in that we Purchased. I use the front brake almost exclusively, I upgrade my Front brake line to Stainless Braided Line and you can tell the difference, my Front brake is one or two finger.

yeah, I'm kind of resigned. I may consider upgrading to a rear disc brake (instead of trying drum shoes again) but it is quite expensive to pick up all the disc brake parts.
Quick question: where did you source your SS braided line?
Thanks
