Throttle cable lenth [Solved] By motley (Read 491 times)

If someone could verify with me before tonight is over 'Same day shipping', Is it possible get a throttle cable that is too long with to much slack where as the trottle wont engage all the way?

It's 78 inches long, I didn't fully measure the actual cable, But slide the broken wire out instead and started doing measurements, My wire is 68 inches long.

If I route the cable maybe near the gas tank then back to the carb "if it's even that long", Is it possible the wire would have to much slack where I couldn't open the throttle all the way?

My broken cable is technically too short, It stops basically right at the carb, So being able to route the cable to be more hidden would be really nice!

Yeah I was told that 10 extra inches shouldn't hurt

Yeah, I was mentioned that regardless even ten inches shouldn't hurt me. the length of the rear wheel to the front is 6 foot that's only 8 inches longer than the bike. that gives me a lot of room to rout the cable.

I was also told a 50cc scooter that's 6 foot long with dual rear shocks is very unusual.. Said something like the 150cc scooters are like that.

I called a place near me that's a 15 to 24 minute trip only to them and they wanted to charge me 35 for just the cable...

Called a warehouse 30 miles out, these guys are actual dealers, As well believe it or not there Chinese and cant really speak English to well, they told me 30..

At that point I said okay... Well instead of paying 30 what can I find that I could basically get the same day...

That's when I found that kit for 15 dollars. + 9 dollars for shipping 'To get it the same day. Either the rest of it will turn into junk or it will be nice!!

Figured why not go all out in that department of parts, just bought a new carb anyway..
