Replaced dimmer switch now wont start but the the brake lights and turn signals work fine. Has brand new battery. I'm confused.

you probably bumped a wire or connection in there check your kill switch wires

a lot of kill switches are three wire,when it's on it grounds the cdi to kill the engine, when it's off it provides the ground to the start solenoid while the brake circuit provides the hot through the start switch
