The week after my late wife passed away, in a moment of weakness, I bought the 1991 Nighthawk. It came to me with a blown starter motor, a screwed up carb and several other issues. In the two years since I replaced the carb and starter, reset the rear brake to engage properly and fabricated a fix for gutted mufflers. It only had one flaw after that. The directional signals weren't working. I wish I could say I repaired them myself but I didn't. A new repair shop opened nearby so I gave it to them to fix. Besides a few loose wires it needed a new relay and the handlebar switch. I picked up the parts from Bike Bandit as the shop had trouble acquiring them. It's just a bike but having it roadworthy now feels right. I bought it to distract me from her passing and has helped me get through those times. Now the bike is back. I can almost feel it smile.
