Is there anything that could be too long?

The new engine is 10.75 inches long and is considered a longcase

The old engine is 10 inches exact, and is considered a shortcase.

There’s no such thing as a 9.5 inch scooter wheel,,, Vespa started out with 8 inch rims abandoned that in favor of 10’s,,, and abandoned them I favor of 12’s now,,,what I would do is contact Dan at martins mopeds,, explain to him what happened,, and he should be able to supply you with a good quality case that will be correct for your application,,
