I'm pretty new to working on small engines and I'm having some electrical problems I think. At this point I can't get it to start at all. 2016 wolf brand v-150. I have bought a new stator and spark plug and am waiting on a compression tester and rectifier. What type of rectifier would I need to go with a 11 coil 3 phase stator? I am also trying to change from a dc powered electrical system to a ac cdi. Let me start by saying its a 2016 wolf brand v-150. I have installed a after market exhaust and free flow unit filter. It was running really well before all of this began. It hasn't had any battery problems up until this all began. It started when I replacing a leaky head and cylinder gasket, I was doing the work outside had just got the engine off the frame and opened up down to the cylinder when it started raining out of nobwhere. Mind you I should of checked the weather but being just a gasket installation I just glanced at the sky and made the judgment based on that. Long story short had some issues at home right as I started and delayed my work and by the time I did start the work a storm rolled in and it was pouring. Seat was out so all the frame and all electronics were soaked. The head cylinder everything got soaked. I was by myself and got everything under shelter as quickly as I could but even though everything got drenched. I dried everything with towels as best I could before going on with my work. Since then it hasn't started at all. The battery has been replaced and even after that the brand new battery was drained and had to be charged. I have noticed that since that day it seems very hard to crack the engine by hand. The starter does turn it over but it wont ignite. I hsve checked for spark and there is but it does look as though it may be a weak spark. Just s guess though. I'm by no means a professional mechanic just someone teying to work on my own scooter and learn some new things about working on them and how they work myself. Save a little money in the process. Even though its costing a lot of time imo the knowledge I'm gaining is worth it. its got a brand new intake manifold, brand new air filter spark plug ac cdi gaskets but as I said the installation that day did not go well. Oh while I was having the issues with it not turning over at all there was a wire(green one xoming from the stator hooking to the black/white wire going to the main switch start switch etc. It was the stator ground to switches. I had done no electrical work before this point so this is how it was wired from the factory. But like I said I think I have the electrical figured out, not 100% since its still not starting just tuejjng over. Its got fresh fuel and oil in it and although i didn't actually clean the filter and or tank / lines. I did clean the carb. I'm considering taking the engine back off and examining the rings and piston since it feels so hard to turn over. But I'm wondering if it could be the timing chain being off or damaged to. Idk. I'm just really stumped and not sure where j should begin. or whst kind of rectifier to get to go with my 3 phase 11 coil stator. I'd appreciate any help and advice i can get. I work a lot so I do the scooter work at night by shop light a lot. Im more than willing to give more information about my scoot and or anything else about the sistustion. Again thanks. I hope I can get this figured out I'm ready to take a ride. Its been almost 2 full weeks off the road. Thanks in advance any help and advice. happy to join the forum. I spend so much time just reading these forums to try and learn whatever I can.
