So it appears the problem is still slightly there. The belt favorites the flywheel like pully. The belt I ordered is thinner in width than all of the belts I've used. I made sure to do so do to the spin/twist of the belt.
It's about to stop raining, and I'm going to take it for a short spin.
Isn't there a restrictor washer that might help me? I've heard of it but never seen one. And is it possible to make one for testing? All of the internet pics are different.
I'm going to pop in 8g rollers. That should kill the other pully getting favoritized

Seems to be fixed, but the problem is still partially there. If it's a clear day tomorrow I will drive it hard and just break down somewhere if I do. It does the twist at the top around 6,000 slightly. Then the same on let off but at the bottom.
The belt is practically driving off the varriator a little. Is this bad? I fear the belt stretching.

Your dealing with like 3.5 Horsepower at 7,000rpm You are Not stretching or Slipping the belt..

Belts will "flip" if the pulleys are not in line with each other

cyborg what could cause the pully to not be in line with each other? The clutch sticking out further than the varriator? While I'm fooling with this area, what's the best way to limit the rpms without limiting speeds? I'd go with a gear set, but I can't find anyone with a hydraulic press.

The diver is right (as usual),,pics are really helpful,,maybe we can see a problem that you may be missing,,,more eyes on this thing the better,,,and as a related side note as long as you have this thing apart make sure the clutch and variator are sliding in and out smoothly,,,I think this is the base problem here,,,along with a wrong sized belt

I had a scooter that went through belts way to often and finally bought another. by chance they were side by side with the belt covers off and out of the corner of my eye I saw that the belt issue scooter was not truly aligned from variator to rear pulley so that the belt was not straight and why I was building up so much more heat and shredding belts. I never really looked into the cause because someone bought it for parts but it's worth looking into. Maybe one of the two pulleys had an extra washer or the need of one to line them up properly. the new scoot (and the one that was bad were both unboxed new by me)never had that issue.

Yes, to fully fix my problem I installed 8g rollers. I ordered a cheap set of 10g rollers. As the scooter is a little to much torque in the beginning. Which is fine. But after I hit 6k rpm I oddly lose speed compared to takeoff speeds. Might be slip, or bad GPS readings. I feel the horsepower loss though..
I live in the middle of nowhere where you won't need to stop but every five miles for a stop sign.
So, the heavy rollers should help, yet help limit the rpms. If I can still hit near 7k rpms hopefully I'll be winning on speeds..
