While on my 36 mile coffee run yesterday, and maybe 50 yards beyond a four way stop, county road intersection, I noticed a few nails on the pavement....then a few more.....and some more. After zig zagging my way through them, decided I'd better stop to see if I'd picked any up in the scoot tires. Parked on shoulder, scoot on center stand, spun both tires a few rounds....glad to find them nail free. Was about to continue on home, but then thought a 5 minute delay won't make any difference. Shut the scooter off, removed my helmet, and made the 50 to 100 yard walk, picking up nails as I went. Probably saved a couple of people some grief. Don't know what kind of moron throws loose nails in the back of his pickup, then hammers down our bumpy county roads, not caring what his stupidity might cost another motorist. This is what I picked up. s26.postimg.cc/y5k6jf7ol/IMG_20180906_road_debris.jpg

Years ago I rode a bicycle rally in Connecticut. We were in an exclusive neighborhood when a couple of my friends got flats. As we fixed them we looked down the road and there were many people doing the same thing. Apparently the locals objected to scummy cyclists and spread small nails on the road. Not big enough to stop a car but big enough to stop a bicycle. We looked out through that section and got through it without anymore flats. Some people suck.
