I occasionally go to Modern Vespa just to see what's up over there. They had a thread going about a guy asking about what kind of scooter should he buy. He was looking at a Tao Tao 150 because it was cheap. After the usual ragging about how crappy Chinese scooters are someone jumped in and basically said he had been to Florida seven times and saw Chinese scooters all over the place. He spoke to their owners and they all loved them. He ended up saying that not all the world is riding around on brand name stuff.

A day later the thread was deleted. So much for free speech.

I was a member there when I first got interested in the scooter world and when I said I had a Stella I was treated like the unwanted stepchild ,,,kinda sad I haven't been over on that forum in years,,,way too snooty and elitist for my taste
