When I fill my scooter's tank up it registers full on the fuel gauge. But after 20 or 25 miles it only registers about half full. Then after another 20 or 25 miles it sits on empty. I thought this machine was supposed to get 80+ mpg. Is this normal. Scary if I'm planning on a long trip.

It should be getting 75-80 mpg ,,,may be something wrong with the gauge or wiring

The only time my 150cc GY6 got 85 mpg was after a new belt installation. Mostly I got around 65 miles out of a tank. That gauge is a little inaccurate but I would listen to it. Plus you might want to check around. Some of those style bikes only carried like 7/8 of a gallon. The gauge could be right then.
