Hi my regulator rectifier keeps blowing I e replaced it 4 times and from what I've tested it the battery keeps going up to 16-17 then the regulator blows.

It sounds to me like a stator problem. The wiring harness coming from the stator is a mixture of both AC AND DC currents, and if they become brittle, worn or chafed, they can cause all kinds of trouble for the R/Rs!
