Gy6 Starts in freezing ,but not warm weather... By brian1993 (Read 300 times)

Hi There!
I have a 150cc Bigboy gy6 scooter. It starts in the morning when its freezing outside with zero problems, but wont start at all when warm outside in the afternoon...i have done 10 000 miles on it, and it only recently started having this issue.
I need help please, any advice on what is wrong?

Have you checked the valve clearances lately? It almost sounds like a compression loss. If not that, try starter fluid. If it fires up you have a carburetor issue.

Hi kz1000st , I did check the valve clearances and found that they were not correct. Also found that the stator was faulty(don't know if this could have also caused the issue?). Carb was in perfect condition. It starts much easier now in the warm South African weather we are always experiencing. Hopefully ill be good for another 10 000 miles!!! Thanks
