Hello,
I own a 2009 Honda Metropolitan and have had no issues until recently. I’ve noticed in the past couple weeks that it was struggling to start, but have always been able to either kick start or eventually electric start it. This morning I rode the moped to work with no problems whatsoever. As I was leaving work 6 hours later, the moped barely accelerated and only got 2 blocks before dying like it was out of fuel. I was just able to start it again but when I full throttled it, the scooter wouldn’t even move. When I let go of the throttle, it died. The gas is brand new in the scooter and the oil was recently changed. Anyone know what this may be?

Have you had the valve clearances checked lately? I'm not up on the operation of a Metropolitan but if it has a fuel pump it's probably vacuum powered. Also if the valves are hanging open the engine's compression is low and there is no vacuum to power the pump or the engine.
