Looking for help solving electrical problem. I have no spark at the plug and headlights will not turn on. The brake lights and turn signals work. The starter switch will engage starter and turn motor over. I was given the scooter. Last owner said it started and ran but would not run well because he messed up replacing a broken throttle cable. Yes, he did screw that up pretty good. I installed a new throttle cable & Grip assembly and adjusted as needed. I charged the batt, set ign key to run and turned motor over but, no joy. I removed the plug and held it against crank case ground and have no spark. I believe the headlight switch has to be in the "on" position, while applying left brake lever for scoot to turnover & start. I believe the headlight switch doubles as kill switch?
As parts are cheap, and came as a package, I replaced the ignition coil & plug wire, spark plug, CDI box, starter solenoid, three position head light switch & high low beam headlight switch. After all my efforts, no change. I still have no parking lights or headlights. Motor turns over but no spark at the plug. The stator could be junk but, that would't keep the headlights from turning on. I have sufficient voltage in & out of solenoid, although output side seems low on output side at 9v on both old & new solenoids. Again, that should be independent of parking/headlight function.
Suggestions for trouble shooting methodology appreciated.
