Hello everyone!
Gas is going up so I decided to dust off my SunL 150cc and work on it to get it ready for the road.
It looks a little aged and it used to run 4 years ago before it was classified as a project and parked in the shed under a ton of junk.
Got it to crank right away with a new battery and i began going through the its known issues.
I bought it used and the I noticed right away that the previous owner did some weird stuff at the point that the ground wire going into the CDI was melted (yeah).
I replaced the wire and made a steong ground but the battery dies quickly even if new and headlights needs to be swapped at the regular basis. I notice that when revving up/down, the headlight increase/decrease brightness and I dont care for that.
My idea is to:
1. Rewire the moped removing things that are not needed and enstablish a stong, good new wiring. This had splices everywhere, a kill switch that supposed to stop the battery drainage etc etc etc...better start fresh
2. Replace the headlight with LED to minimize drain and, it woild be nice to wire the headlights to keep them at steady (how, I don't know)
3. Replace the middle main stand because is bent and it is a pain to put the moped on it.
4. Do some normal maintenance on the engine itself to be sure that is taken care of. I haven't fully started it, I just verified that it cracks and I got a spark, I didn't add fuel yet because I'm changing all the fuel lines. They look old and brittle
Any suggestion on how to takle this and maybe where I can buy some of these components? I am used to Piaggio and Aprilia...documentation is everywhere and parts are clear and listed more less as a car...this SunL is a completely different story...I can't find anything and I feel like I need advices from an expert...or two.
The model is a SunL 150cc SL150-12B; the motor is a YY150T-12.
I have no manuals, no documentation and nothing else. It has a 5 wire stator (I supposed an 11 coils), a 4 wires stabilizer and the cdi...well i don't know if it is dc or ac.
I can send pics and everything someone need in order to enlight me.
Thank you very much
