My son bought a used tao tao e-scooter and wanted to know more about it. Some questions: where to find the model/year/sn, range, how do you know when to replace the batteries and is it worth changing the lights to led. He was able to go 20km until it started getting dark in the am when he started to use the light, now he has to push it part way home.
If you could get back to me that would be great.

Google is your friend. You could buy a bicycle headlight to take the load off the battery. The new LED models throw off a good beam. Look through Google with words like Tao Tao e scooter to find your model.

I replaced the light with LED which is brighter but did not help with the range. Can someone suggest the range I should get and where I could find the model? I just replaced the batteries and now I have additional problems. When you turn the throttle the volt meter drops to at least 50% and this didn't happen with the old batteries. Secondly, the charger is asking up. It charges for a while but them the green light and fan cycle on and off. Before the green light came on solid when the battery was charged. BTW, is there a setting to get an email when someone replies to post?
