OK, I still cannot find a mechanical reason for this failure. Thinking just got a bad one.

Hope to have the kit in tomorrow afternoon or Friday because we have the Last Days of Summer (LDS) rally here starting Friday at 1pm.

Got teh kit and it looks to be waaay better quality than the old one. Installed, it and it fired right up but was leaking oil like crazy. Took ht back off, made a new gasket and still leaking. Taking a break now from working on it.

Got the oil leak fixed, I should remember not to trust or use the thin green gasket that comes with these kits. I had to make my own last time and did again this time and no leaks!

250 miles later, and all seems well. gonna change the oil to full synthetic, and pull the valve cover to make sure all is tight, and re-check valves. still tking it a little easy, but seems great. The 10g sliders had very smooth acceleration, but RPM's were to high. swapped in three 16g rollers for a temporary fix and will order a set of 12g and 13g sliders from Scrappydog (quickly becoming my favorite seller).
