With scooter diagnostics you have to use the RI/RO procedure just like you do in medicine, i.e. rule in/rule out. You can't go jumping about the scooter from one component to the next testing without an organized system, you'll get confused and lost. So first check the fuse in the small red wire usually right next to the battery. If it's OK I'm sorry to tell you that wire and connector evaluation is the next step. That usually involves taking body plastic off. I've provided a link to a simple 150cc wiring diagram, it's color coded but by systems, not wire color. So don't expect the wires to be this color. There's many more wiring diagrams in our electrical tech section to help you trace your wires. Let us know what happens. Rich

C&P from Joe: The battery is reading ok,,I checked it with a meter. When you pull in the brake handle to start it,,the brake light doesn't even come on, all bulbs test out ok. Joe
You have a short, grounded wire, bad switch, or bad connector. The reason you can't use the starter is because the brake light switch is part of the starting circuit; it's a safety lock out. So you might start your investigation there, around the brake switch. The Chinese electrical connectors on some scooters are REALLY cheesy and fail with great regularity. What make is your scooter, what does it say on the side? Rich
