I have got started on my PDI (finally)! I am stuck here: There are two screws that I can't get to at all. They come from inside the plastic, and I can't remove them. Any suggestions? Anyone done a PDI on a Roketa like mine?

Denise, Using that picture can you tell us where these screws are located or take a shot that shows them? Don't panic, help is on it's way.

I just took some pictures. Here's the first: Here's the second one: As you can see, the screws aren't accessible from the outside, at least not that I can see. Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm not in a rush to get this done, but I don't want to just sit there and look at it, either!

By the way, so far so good! No problems detected, but I think that extreme scooters might have already done a PDI. I can't get some of those bolts out no matter what I do (I figure they already have loctite on them). If I can't get them out, even with decent leverage, then they're tight, right? No problem!

Every scooter is put together differently. Even two supposedly identical scoots will have different wires and nuts. You have to use a guide as a road map that doesn't have all of the points of interest on it. . I think you can get by without taking those off, they just hold the decorative windscreen on. If it won't come off without major surgery just leave it. Rich

Denise, Bashan must be right. I looked all over and the only mention of those screws involved removing the windshield. Are you sure there aren't any more screws hiding from plane sight? Sometimes you have to be twisted in knots to see where these scoots have nuts and bolt.

I'll go over it again, but I think I found them all. I'll keep going without this step for now.

Denise, What are you trying to do? I have the same scoot and just had mine apart to replace the throttle cable. Those are for the windshield and you do not need to take those out to take off the whole valance. I believe there are 4 screws plus one at the base to take the valance off.

I can't get it off, and the bottom section is free. The top is still attached at those two spots, and the only reason I can find is those two screws, or whatever they are. I have 6 removed right now, and it will not come off. I have tried everything. If you know what's holding it up, please tell me. Also, how did you get your topcase on? I can't get it to snap into place, like the directions tell me no matter what I do.

There should be 5 screws holding that on. They are shown in red and the one yellow. You also have to take off the grip covers which are those plastic things that go around the grips. Did you take the mirrors off? They need to come off also. The windshield is attached to the valance and should not affect it coming off. You may have to persuade the plastic around the throttle linkage. Also, what do you mean by topcase?

The topcase is the "trunk." My type snaps onto the base, but both me and my housemate (and neither of us are lightweights) put our full weight into it and it would not snap into place no matter what we did. I had assumed that it would have bolts from inside the case, but it does not.
I have removed the rear view mirrors and 6 screws. I suspect that mine is put together differently from yours. The plastic around the grips wouldn't have any effect on this particular setup. The pieces that surround the handlebars themselves are separate from the piece I'm trying to remove. I'll post some pics later.
