My scooter, is a 2006 Yamati Eurostrada rx8, which I have had for three years with virtually no problems.
Last week it died on me and I had to walk it home. The noise it produced was a really loud chatter at idle, which I thought was the rear drum brake, which it's not. I am now in the process of taking out the clutch to inspect and possibly look into the transmission.
I am extremely mechanically inclined so what ever i need to fix, should not be a problem. Plus all the how-to's on this site are just fantastic.
My biggest question is the numbers I pulled off my bike so I can get the necessary parts. My VIN is 5p4tbamt66s000295. The numbers of my engine are qj1e40qmp and right below that was this, *61000424*.
Can anyone tell me what these numbers mean, so I can get the necessary parts that I might need?
Thanks,
Kevin

The numbers are just serial numbers of the engine, they don't mean a thing for identification of parts. What you need is the QJ1E40QMP, so you have to google for parts for the QJ1E40QMP engine. Alleyoop

After searching online I decided to recheck the engine numbers, it is QJ1E40QMB.
After tearing into my scooter I noticed that I need a new clutch, the pads became so thin and they overheated and melted into the bell housing. I also am going to replace the belt and all variator parts at this time.
So if anyone can help me identify this engine so I can get parts, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

Scrappy Dog sells for this motor, here is the link to that page. The QJ is a designation for a particular factory in China. The 1 means one cylinder, the E is important in that it means two stroke, but I'm sure you knew that! Whew! 40 is the bore in MMs and QMB designates 50cc. When you call Rick just give him that code and he'll find your parts. You might be able to find them on his site by following the above link. Let us know if you need more help. Rich

Thanks for the help.
I just spoke with Rich, on the phone and have to send him a bunch of pictures of my engine. Based on our phone conversation, he thinks I might have a mislabeled engine. Looks like we'll have to wait and see.
Thanks again for all the help.

It has been determined that my engine is indeed a 4t QMB139. Somehow it was mislabeled at the OJ factory in China.
Now it's time to start searching for parts, to make this thing fly.
I know I am going to do a BBK, Clutch, Variator, Brakes, Belt, and who knows what else.
Thanks again for all your help.
