I just bought a used 2008 Znen 250cc Chinese Scooter. It looks exactly like this (http://www.powersportsmax.com/product_info.php/cPath/38/products_id/1116). It sat around for about a year before I purchased it. It only has 543 miles on it however it is not running correctly. I am new to this forum so I apologize if I am asking a question that has been addressed before. I want to know if a service repair manual exists for my scooter? The engine has GY6 stamped on it however after some reading I believe it is the CFMOTO 244cc. The engine does not start when it is cold and I have to use starter fluid to get it going. I am fairly knowledgeable about engines and I am willing to work on it myself, however I would like to find a manual that will guide me as I do the work. After I get it started using starting fluid and warm it up it does ride, however there is a slight hesitation upon acceleration. Any help as to where I can find some information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the welcome. I hope I can get these initial issues behind me so I can enjoy the scooter. The tag says ZN250T-10. Does this mean anything to you?

Welcome Essel, The Hard starting could just be your Enricher(CHOKE) on the carb not working since spraying it with starter fluid makes if fire up. You can check the Choke if it is working. Take it off before you start it and if you can see a Spring between the Plunger and Rubber holder IT is Extended and not working. When Cold the Enricher Plunger Should be Retracted (that by the way is the Default Mode) to feed extra fuel for starting. As soon as the engine starts up it gets Voltage and the Plunger Starts to Extend to shut off the extra fuel for the cold starting, this takes about 3-5 minutes.
The hesiatation may just be you need a little adjustment to the Carb. That you can do using the Air/Fuel Mixture Screw on the Carb. It is probably a little Lean so you would need to turn it Counter Clockwise about 1/4 turn or so. Alleyoop

Welcome eseel, I agree with the auto enricher(choke) not working but I would also recommend cleaning the carb. If has been sitting for about a year, there is a chance the jet is partially plugged which would account for the hard starting and the hesitation. I would also look for an air leak near the air filter or carb area. I had the same hesitation problem with my 150 and found a small hole wore through in the air hose from the filter to the carb. Definately clean the carb first and see if it is stil difficult to start then look at the choke, then an air leak after the carb is adjusted as Mr. OOP says

Welcome to Scooter Doc, eseel. It does look like that is the CfMoto 244cc type engine. Our members have already given good advice on what appears to be a carb related problem. It is also a good idea to avoid starting fluid as it may harm some of the carb components. Most people use carb cleaner spray to aid in hard starting. This manual is the one we generally use for working on the 244cc:
