I was going to post a question in this forum...(Has anyone tried belt dressing to get more contact on the variator and pulley). Then I thought, That is the most stupid idea I have come up with and believe me I have come up with some zingers, ask my wife. The variator and pulley are smooth for a reason, so the belt can move up and down freely. If the belt catches it might create slack then tighten up quickly and shread. Now my question is... Has anyone tried this and gotten this result?

No have not tried it, but your right the Belt Dressing makes it sticky so the belt DOES NOT SLIP like on the Car Pulleys to turn the different pulleys. Since on a CVT the belt is supposed to move up and down I do not think that is a good idea and like you said would shread in a minute. Alleyoop
