Hi. I'm just new to the board and to scooters. I have been wrenching on bikes for some time now, but this is the first scooter I have had to deal with. I am fixing it for a friend who started on it, but gave up. I got it in a few pieces. I am sure that it needs a new regulator (not charging battery). The small diode and heat sink were just hanging (need to know where that mounts). Need right side front turn signal lens. (where can I get it and what is the part #?). I could really do with a good wiring diagram and would like to know what voltage I should see on the alternator legs and on the output of the regulator. Thanks.

Here's a picture of the diode placement on my YY250T which is the same body style as your scoot: It's mounted on the frame rail just below the seat. The engine will have the diode tied into the red circuit off of the R/R going to the battery after the head/tail lights circuit ties in. The diode allows current to flow one way to the battery and blocks the battery's voltage from going back to the head lights. Here's the directional signal. Thank you so much for the photo. I didn't figure on the regulator hanging by one bolt since both bolts line up perfectly to mount the regulator horizontally. Thanks too for the light info and the heads up on the scooter being a Jonway clone. Are there any other scooters that are copies of or copied by the SL250-22? This info would help the owner find parts in the future.
