hi folks.i just bought a wee chinese 50cc 4 stroke scooter[secound hand 08] and it dosent seem to rev up to get full speed[only getting 25-30 mph].even when its on the stand its revs so far then just kinda goes up and down.i have taken off carb and air filter, cleaned and blew them out though they were quite clean.also i have taken off exhaust and blew compressed air through it as well.i tried also a new spark plug but all to no good.can someone tell me what next i should try? it can hardly get up hills.

Are you getting adequate fuel flow? If there's a blockage at the tank, filter, or lines it will hold your top end down. The second thing I would check is the diaphragm under the brass cover on top of the carb. If it has a hole in it the needle won't lift like it should. There's explanations for these problems in the library under "air, fuel, and carb". Let us know what happens. Rich
