Does anyone have an idea where I can find a new diode. It is the part that has small cooling fins like a rectifier/regulator, with a black and red wire that connects to a red and yellow, and the component attaches to the right side of the frame under the seat . I have looked at many online places and to no avail. I couldn't even find it on the Jonway parts website.

I replaced my blocking diode with an auto relay. These can be purchased on ebay for about $4. Worked like a charm and I should have no more problems there.
The relay also takes less voltage than the diode.

Great info, thanks to both of you. Now I'm curious as to what their reason was for designing the lighting and charging system tied together. They could have just had a separate line in the fuse block that didn't involve the charging system. Has anyone noticed that following the yellow from the diode, that at the couplers, it changes to brown, then brown goes back to yellow via fuse box, then again goes back to brown in upper front fairing. It just made things more complicated at first during diagnosis.

LOL, I'm not sure China has a wire color code. And if they do they sure don't worry about it when their making this scooters. My question is why do they hide everything under the skin? They hang fuses everywhere. How much would it take to put a small fuse block in under the seat? I agree it's a PITA to work on them. Bob

Bob My Jonway 250T didn't come with a radio, but I did get a fuse block. Located under the seat in the battery compartment.
