I have a Ice Bear 2009 model 150cc, It starts and runs good for about 3 miles, then it completely dies. Then when cooled off, runs fine until it warms up again, and dies again. I have checked the spark when cool - actually did all the required tests here on the board and all the diagnostics came back fine, and with good readings when it warms up - no spark I have switched the plug I have switched the coil (actually got 2 new ones New cdi Stator checks out on an average of 97v when cranking I did the starter switch/kill switch test and that test was fine So now what? I talked with Alleyoop, and he suggested to pull the kill wire on the cdi, and see if it was grounding out I did that, and there was still no spark Contacted Icebear, they won't talk to me - said I needed to talk to the person or company I bought it from, said they don't honor warranty's, only the company can honor their warranty's, contacted the company. they said switch out the stator, at my cost (nice warranty) the trike is 2 1/2 months old. Somebody needs to know whats going on. Any help PLEASE!!!!!

Have you checked the Ground Wire from the Enigine to the Frame. Do this quick test, take one of your SPARE Plugs and take the Coil off the Plug on the engine and stick the Spare Plug in the Coil and Ground it to the FRAME and Crank it. See if you get Spark. If you Do get Spark then Ground it to the VALVE COVER and see if it still sparks. Let me know what the results are. Alleyoop

Got it going ! I had issues with the cheap plastic plugs from the harness, I ended up hardwiring it. I also put my original CDI back in, and it fired up immediately. I got a performance CDI from Scrappy Dog, but its no good. Thanks for your help anyways Alleyoop. I just want to get through this years driving season, then I'll do a complete makeover this winter. I'm thinking of a complete new drivetrain, like a liquid cooled Honda motor, maybe in the 400cc and up range

That is good news that you got it going. So which was the real problem the CDI from Scrappy or the wireing? And if the wireing which wires so we can check those out if it happens to ME and others(HEHE). Alleyoop

It was the harness that was with the cluster that the two stator wires was wrapped in. It was the four pin plug. Scrappys CDI worked, but never got me over 7000 rpm's, and now it seems like its fried out. My original works, but I only get 6500 rpms. I have the slowest stock icebear ever made. I could bet that the 50cc model could walk all over me. The manufacturer date on mine is 5/09 probably the first one ever made. I'm thinking of a Honda Quad motor to put in, might have to lose the bucket under the seat but imagine the possibilities? 600 - 700cc, finally an icebear that will actually roar like a bear should
