Hey that sounds like good effort krotch. It seems like something worth trying. If that gets me to seeing and fixing what is wrong with the latches that will be good. Another thought for after we get moved to AZ.
And thanks to you grocerygetter, I never thought to look into Paint. I will give that a try. I will see if I can print your photo's. They look to be helpful to me. .

OK, I will try again. I posted here a while ago but it is not here now. Maybe I did not post it properly.
I tried to take of the left side panel. All told I took out 9 screws, not counting the 3 grab rail screws. Two at the top front, one behind the rider foot rest and one to the rear of that. Two to take a panel under the tail lights off, one under that panel that held the side panel. One at the top rear of the left panel and one at the rear top right panel. But the panel is still locked somehow and won't separate from the small panel above the tail lights. Any clues about what to do here would be appreciated.
With the panel loose I was able to get behind it and reset the adjuster to both extremes and still no action at the rear latch. More snooping required.
OK, at the front latch the cable that goes to the rear latch does not get activated when I turn the switch. So it must be loose, out of place, broken, but I can not tell. It appears that I will need to take off the rim piece around the under seat area in order to find out what is really wrong there. If so I will probably put everything back together and wait until we get moved and do a complete tear down for adjusting, lube, fixing, and whatever needs to be done.
Clues or help? .

Just had a call from my Arizona real estate agent last evening. Sale finally approved after over 3 months delay. Packing today and leaving tomorrow for Arizona and the house inspection with closing expected on 14th October. Scoot will remain unfixed till I return and then I will probably just put it back together until after the move takes place. I think it must be a deeper tear down is required.
Thanks for your help so far. Anymore ideas will be welcomed. I will be watching the forums, just not working on the scoot for now. .
