Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and excited to be here!
I've got a 1986 Honda Elite CH250. Things were going fine until one day I was out for a ride and I picked up a nail in my rear tire. I was accelerating at about 50 mph and nearly went down. The tire is trashed and I needed new tires anyway, so I bought some. I also decided to do the bearings and brake shoes while I was at it. However, I've run into two problems.
First, I can't get the stupid right swing arm off the axle. I think the bearing is jammed or something. I have tried all I can think of and am not getting anywhere. Any tips or similar problems? This is my major concern.
Second, I'm having a hard time getting the bearings out. I've got a puller for motorcycle bearings, which was too big, so I went to Harbor Freight and got one I thought would fit. Still not working. I really don't want to spend the extra money for a really nice one if I'm not going to use it very often. Any tips in this arena?
Anyway, I hope someone can help. I've got to get this thing up and running asap as I ride year round.
Thanks!
Btw: I'm having trouble posting a pic of the swing arm. Any help there?

Welcome to the forum. Here is our very own Big Guy's picture posting tutorial. Some pictures would be very helpful in sorting this out. We have two manuals on your scooter you should read through. Scroll down to the library, click on "manuals, help files, and PDIs", then click on "non-Chinese manuals", and you'll see the Honda link. Swing arms can be problematic, we've had lots of members struggle with them. I'm going to move this to the 250 tech section where we can get some eyeballs on it. Rich

Thanks! Here are some pics, hopefully they will help. This is the culprit. I'm pretty sure I've ruined the bearing in my frustration. I got confused as to what "sleeve A" was in the manual and pried out the seal. One can make some bad decisions when working at the end of the rope late at night . A better view. This is the front wheel. Any tips on bearing pullers? The bike. She's in rough shape, but I'm bringing her back. She runs and rides well, despite being all beat up! Hope you guys can help! Thanks!

The first time I took the swing arm off of my Bashan it involved tapping a wooden dowel rod on the wheel, some choice language, and more than a few libations. Good luck,Rich
