hey fella's I'm planning on building a tow bar specifically for my Magnum 300. Plan is to take an old receiver and modify it with a 60 degree rail channel cut from 6 or 8 inch box tube. Plan is that it will hold the front tire only. It will be used for when/if I get stranded close to home I can just tow it back to my shop versus working on it on the side of the road. HEY AL: do you see any problem with towing short distances (20 miles or less at low speeds of around 40) on the drivetrain?? I figured with a cvt there shouldn't be a problem. So far I've been lucky and the Magnum has not stranded me but all it takes is a chain break or something. Later I might build a small light weight trailer that houses it perfectly and low to the ground.

No there should not be a problem crap I towed my Brother-In Laws Trike with my Trike and I was pulling 350lbs. And I had to stop for stop lights and on one we were stopped uphill going over a main highway. It is just the initial pull to get rolling after that it just rolls along. Alleyoop

Ok thx for the comment Bud! I figured it's a lot easier just leaving a receiver in the wifes SUV than it is to worry about hooking up a trailer. Oh yet I forgot to tell you that Magnum of mine really likes a lot of gas to start good in cold weather. As long as I pump the throttle a couplke of times it will start right up but if I don't it just will not start in the cold.

Same with mine I have to put the CHOKE on all the way if I just try with just a little choke it will not start. Your carb must have a pump so yes giving the throttle a couple of quick twists will squirt fuel into the Intake. Alley

Since the new stator, battery and blowing out the gas line my magnum starts with the first touch of the starter button. Well it is 60 degrees so that may help. ;D ;D It seems to run stronger would a new stator do that? Maybe next week I can get it in and have the front tire changed. I finally read the plaque on the trike it reads 35 lbs tire pressure for the rear. I may try that today but I think it might be too much since that is the max on the side of the tire.

Is the tire Al, I think max is only 15psi... I think we set the bad at around 40psi and yes they make a big ifference in the ride.

Al: He is right on. I was checking the wear on the tire and at anything over 15 PSI there is big time wear in the very middle of the tire. The contact area is squared when the tires are at around 12-13 PSI. There is no sidewall give at this pressure which would not be true of a car. These trikes are so light...geez I can pick the whole back end of mine up by the rack and move it around the shop at will. I had 23 in the previous tires and I wore the middle clean out with virtually no wear on the sides. If I were 2 up riding or weighed more I would probably kick it up about 4 PSI. I'm 6'1" and weigh about 198. 12 PSI is perfect on mine. I also notice it does not jar me as before when hitting RR tracks and such. vr, Lee
