You need to measure the stud spacing and get the correct cylinder...it isn't a standard GY6 engine by the sound so it...

Well, my new gaskets came today and I've put everything back on the scoot now, I'll have to try and source a 150cc cylinder kit for the GY6 variation of my engine, just before putting back together I did however measure the crankcase aperture and it's already 63mm so if I do go any bigger on the cylinder it's already bored to size. I spent the best part of the day zip tying cables and spraying WD40 into all the connections as well as greasing up various exposed parts of the scoot. I'm really pleased with the scoot in general, it's just a shame the 150cc cylinder didn't fit, luckily the shop I bought it from will give me a full refund thanks for all your comments be safe out there and happy scooting

WOW 63 mm you could go bigger than a stock 150cc.

just out of interest, is this new variation the sign of things to come as in regards to the GY6's? I just wish I could find the right 150cc BBK for mine.

No guv... they have been around for along time...
When you look for a cylinder (aka: jug) check the internet. The good suppliers will have the diagonal and horizontal dimensions listed, then simply match them to what you have...
There are many variations in the GY6 engine, some are regional and some are for the USA only... Everyone copies everyone else and makes a few changes... thankfully this type of thing is not too common, but it does happen, more often than not...
Be careful.. get too big a BBK and you will be boring the case...
