Since, I bought my two scooters in the last 4 months my friends are turning to them as well. It might be that I'm always talking about the saving on gas every month, because its hard not to talk about that...and of course, the other benefits.
One friend is going to buy the 2010 Elite 108cc this week. The circle is growing.
How about you?

Where do you live Beachbum? Things must be different around there. I was seeing a few scooters around here and then it fizzled out. We really don't have a decent brick and mortar shop in Birmingham, that's probably part of the problem. I ride to work quite a bit and people will come over and look at the Fashion and turn around as soon as they see it's not a motorcycle. The wife and I buzz around the country around Chelsea and consequently don't see a lot of anybody. The big thing around here is choppers. I wish there were more scooters but oh well. I had toyed with the idea of trying to get a small dealership going but I just don't think it would fly here. Roich

@ Bashan: I live in El Segundo, CA. Near Manhattan Beach or Venice Beach. I think people who live in conjested cities really see the practicality of owning a scoot. Plus, they are just fun to cruise along the coast. There has only been one day that I have not been able to ride my scoot to work this winter....that might be the difference as well.

I never thought about the weather being a factor, you're right. Being a life long motorcycle rider too I never considered weather when buying a bike. I try to ride most of the time and get wet once in a while. I also use heated clothing so I can ride all year. Even without heated clothing you could ride all year around here but certainly not as much as you guys do. However, here in B'Ham there's a lot of "big hair and tall heels". Those types just don't want their expensive "do" to get messed up up with a helmet. The guys are more interested in driving their Beemer or big truck around like madmen rather than a scooter. It sounds great where you live with the coast to ride along, it must be beautiful. Rich
