Hey friends, I still love my Roadrunner 300,but, I am finding new things that have to be adjusted almost every time I ride my bike, especially the front end alignment, after I get it home from the shop it;ll ride good for a few days then it'll start the same shimmy at 52 mph??? frustrating. and all of a sudden it has a throttle drop at half throttle(don't know why) it drops off at half throttle and the starts climbing again at WOT ? Go figure. We've been having 100+ temps here for the last couple months and when I have to go over at least three or four steep hills it will over heat(timing maybe?) but when you get back to level ground for a mile or two then it cools down(possible air lock??) It would be a hell of a lot easier if I could find a shop that wasn't over 100mi away from me. Even if it were to pick their brains,I'm not used to asking for help on public forms, makes me feel ignorant,I know that's silly.

I am brand new to this forum and soon to be brand new to the world of trike scooters(never thought I'd be buyin' a scooter). This reply is to daddue11-I have been following your comments on your Sunny MC-D300TKB trike and have purchased one myself and should be getting it soon. I love to tinker with mechanical stuff so hopefully between you and the rest of this forum we can figure out how to make(and keep) this trike fun. Question about your alignment issues: are they saying something is bending, or are adjustment linkages loosening? Just curious. Will post more when three-wheeler arrives.

They said nothing is bent, but, that was the banana heads at this local street vendor sales and shop. they told me it would be fine and just don't drive it over 50mph,in other words theys a buncha quacks. If I can get a day off this coming week I'mm gonna take it to my dealer in springfield,I'm sure they will get it lined out. I still have the utmost confidence in Liberty(her name) Hands down she is the smoothest riding and best handling bike I've ever had,It's my fault for taking her to a nonproven shop of hacks for her service date,Now I know better.I'm even thinking like someone here told me that it might even be the back wheel because it did hit hard on the BIG drop off. I'll find out this coming week. daddue

I own a MC_D300tkb. I've noticed the shimmy and vibration from the front end comes and goes at higher speeds. I've only put 370 miles on the trike. But it is down for the count at the moment. It lost power all of sudden and died and would not start back up. After a carb cleaning it ran for 3 miles then died again. I was getting a weak spark and now I have no spark. Sunny decided to send a new CDI 2 weeks later but it is the wrong CDI. I was really enjoying my Roadrunner but now it has just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I sure hope some of you still check this board.
I have no idea if the trike is still being manufactured. But the front alignment issue intrigues me. All leaning reverse trikes have accelerated front tire wear. I believe that I may have a solution to both tire wear and shimmy. if anyone cares to email me (lmarxsen@yahoo.com). Hint--- think semi-free-to-caster.
I also may be interested in buying a sunny D300tkb for a test mule.

That'd be great ,,if you could devise a solution to th front end problems with this machine,,,I'm sure a boatload of super low mile units are sitting in garages idle cause of wonky front ends

To be clear---I'm not trying to sell anything, nor am I looking for money from anyone. The MC d300tkb seems to be a reverse trike that frequently exhibits all of the ills relative to reverse trikes, and I am only looking for someone with one of those trikes to make and try out the cheap modifications. That person, if they choose, could probably make a small business making the mods for the Sunny as well as the Piaggio MP3, Peugeot, and even the new Yamaha Niken that is using modified Ackermann steering
My idea is a missing link to front steering linkage that should eliminate shimmy, wobble, alignment woes, and greatly reduce front tire wear to the point of being more like a two-wheeler tire wear (nearly double).
I'm not interested in patenting it, but, assuming it works, I would make it public domain. Anyone following the patent action in the U.S. will understand when I say the patent system is broken and it will likely cost more to defend than can be received.
As a last resort I may be willing to buy an MC D300tkb on the CHEAP to be my test bed.
