Hello friends,I'm redoing an old 2 stroke 6volt 50cc scooter that has been setting around an old barn for around 10 yrs now,I've changed the spark plug, oil,cv fluid, had new tires balanced and and made and replaced the intake gaskets had it running in 2 days. Now,I have only one more thing to replace and that's the exhaust gasket. Can I get away with making an exhaust gasket out of the same gasket paper as the intake or does it have to be a metal one or is there a cilicone substance that I could use?? Any reply will be welcome. Thanks daddue11 Steve

It has to be exhaust gasket material or it will burn up. The silicone stuff won't last either. When I needed some exhaust gasket material recently I went down to Auto Weinie and bought a gasket set for a Chevy truck. It was like $8.00 but they didn't have any in uncut sheets. Even so, there's plenty of room to cut many exhaust gaskets for scooter size engines.
