This article in Rider Magazine pretty much says the Beemer scooters won't hit the US market until 2013 now, a year later than expected. One rather surprising quote from the article follows:
" Both are built at BMW’s Berlin, Germany, plant and are powered by a BMW-designed and engineered, parallel twin-cylinder engine manufactured by Taiwan-based Kymco, which has vast mega-scooter experience and production capacity."
I thought BMW made all their own stuff, live and learn.
Here's a couple great pics from the article:

So behind on the news Rich. The 650 single engine in the Sertao and any other 650 models is made in China. I don't know if that's SYM or Kymco and their China plants but I read a couple of years ago that they had done that. The first 650s were built by either Aprilia (Piaggio) or Rotax then BMW took over until the China switch.
Are you going to wait a year or settle for a crappy 650 Burgman or equally squalid Silverwing?

I'm going to wait a year and flog the Fashion going to work and back (80 miles). I'll ride the Pegasus once in a while too to stir up the fluids and give the Fashion a break. A year is a long time, who knows what will be out there by then. Maybe Cookees will be selling a 650! Rich
