Hey guys, i'm pretty new to this scooter thing, and i've had to do some work fairly often. I've already changed my cdi and starter (starter was bad before the battery problem) since this happened. I hooked up my battery wrong cus i was in a hurry and blew 2 fuses trying to start it before i figured out what was wrong. now if i hook the battery up it keeps the head lights and tail lights on and my little cell phone alert light stays on. I have a 2008 Wildfire wfh50-s2e scooter. This is my only means of transportation right now. I have changed the battery also, it will start but the battery terminals get crazy hot and fuse melted the plastic around it. and the lights still stay on. I did see smoke come out of the fan on the right side (opposite side of the drive belt) for a minute when i left it hooked up trying to figure out what was going on before i realized the battery was in backwards. any suggestions? also keep in mind i have very little idea where parts are on this thing.

Good man, I was just going to say that your Regulator/Rectifier was probably toast. Ususally when the battery is connected wrong it fries it. Ride Safe Alleyoop

Thank ya thank ya. I upgraded my cdi and learned my way around the scooter a bit so I guess even though it was a pain in the arse it worked out well.
