Just to make sure you do have the Killswitch on the run position. Also I would check if your getting Spark.
Also when you press the start button does it turn the motor or does it just go CLICK CLICK.

I am having the same problem now but with a twist. I can start the scooter with my Remote Start key fob and it will run fine and I can turn it off with the key fob..
It started the other day I was leaving my home and came to a stop light I stopped and the scooter died at the intersection as soon as I stopped. I took a look and noticed my main Fuse to the Battery was blown I found a piece of metal that I could bend into a make shift jumper and shoved it into the connector for the fuse and the horn and lights worked but the bike would not start from the switch. I got home and started trouble shooting the starting problem and remembered I had the remote start . I tried it and sure enough the bike starts but it seems both my High beams are now dead. Like I said earlier I can drive the bike so I will trouble shoot it this week end.
I am going to rip the front off of the bike and trouble shoot the wiring since I recently changed the left hand control because my original control had a broken L/R turn switch.
Anyways if any of you know what could be the cause of the scooter starting with the remote but not with the key please give me a clue. Thanks Jay.

Nonscoot, Yep using the Remote Start requires to reset them so you can start them with a KEY:
If you start the scoot without a key you have to use the "alarm unlock" to shut it off sometimes it may take 2 times then you can use key again. Alleyoop

Rosado, If you push the start button and you hear a clicking and it does turn the starter when you jump the Solenoid Terminals then your Solenoid is bad.
Check if your getting Spark take a spare plug and pull the Boot Cap off the plug on the motor and stick the spare plug in the BOOT and hold the metal part of the plug to the MOTOR and crank it. If it is sparking then it is most likely A FUEL Delivery Problem and OR you need to ADJUST your valves. If the Valves have not been Adjusted in a long while they may be Held open and you have no compression for it to start. Set them to TOP INTAKE VALVE to .004 inchs and BOTTOM EXHAUST VALVE to .005 inchs. Alleyoop
